COMIENZA COMMUNITY UPPER SCHOOL

This ground-up development for a public charter school owner & operator consists of instructional classrooms, administrative offices, exterior deck space, subterranean parking, and extensive offsite & utility improvements.  The project required obtaining a Ministerial Site Plan Review (SPR) from Los Angeles County’s Department of Regional Planning (DRP) & Public Works (DPW).  During garage excavation, localized areas of impacted soil were contained and exported for remediation to state environmental standards.  Despite local labor unions illicitly challenging the project, it was ultimately approved by DRP & DPW and successfully delivered under budget.
