This ground-up development for a public charter school owner & operator consists of instructional classrooms and administrative office space. Due to the City of San Diego Planning Department’s requirement for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for educational facilities over a specific enrollment quantity, we strategically delivered the project in two (2) phases so a portion of classrooms could be constructed earlier by-right and partial student instruction could commence upon the initial delivery. Then after obtaining the discretionary CUP and final building permit approvals, the balance of the project scope could be constructed and the facility could be fully occupied by all students and staff. The project was successfully delivered on time and under budget.
